On behalf of the dedicated men and women of the Lake George Volunteer Fire Department, I welcome you to our website. The LGVFD is an all volunteer department which strives to provide the highest level of service possible to the citizens, businesses, and visitors of Lake George. Our firefighters are committed to providing the highest quality of emergency and non-emergency response. We spend a great deal of time training, maintaining our equipment, and fund raising for new equipment to ensure the services we provide are the best they can be.
Please enjoy the Lake George Volunteer Fire Department website. Surf through the various pages and e-mail me with your comments or questions at Send Email
As President of the organization I would welcome you to our web page and invite you to visit our station if you are in the area. We moved into our new home in April of 2009 and with the help of donations and our fundraising efforts we have completed the areas of the building that the Company was responsible for. The membership is involved in much more than fire protection to the community. We work with the school district, the Boy and Girl Scouts, the Senior Citizens, the American Legion and other civic organizations such as the Rotary Club to make the quality of life in our area better. I am proud of our Company and their continued support and involvement to our Community.
In closing I would also like to say our Company works hard on Recruitment and Retention and I am proud to say we have been successful this past year in growing our membership with several new volunteers. Recruitment never ends, so I ask of you, “Have you ever thought about joining the volunteer fire service and you just not sure if you have what it takes?” Please feel free to contact us, visit our station, talk with our members and watch what we do. There is always a need for help and a job for everyone.
The Lake George Fire Department is proud of its history, and serves the residents of and visitors to, the Town and Village of Lake George with the following objectives in mind:
